5 Tips for a Great Game Day Party

Game Day PartyIf you are hosting a game day party and want to make it memorable here are 5 super tips:

Invitations
Send out evites or invitations by mail. Be sure to tell your guests to RSVP and whether or not they should bring any type of food or drink.

Introductions
If you have people who don’t know each other it is your duty as a host to make introductions. If you know the two have something in common mention it, so they will have something to talk about.

Watching the Game
Have TV’s in more than one room if possible, especially if you have a big crowd. Also, have a room available that does not have a TV for those who don’t want to talk about the game the whole time. If kids will be at the party make sure you have some space for them to gather away from the crowd.

Games
Have some type of competition based on the game. If could be guessing the final score, or predicting statistical leaders.

Pictures
Take pictures to remember the day. Be sure to get some shots of the gang yelling at the screen. These are priceless! You can also upload them to Flickr and email the link to your guests.

p.s. Party favors are not just for kids. You can do something easy like give a box of milk duds with a tag that says Thanks for coming! Or, you can do something more involved like purchasing red and white striped popcorn boxes at the dollar store and putting a popcorn package inside.

Go beyond the basics of chips and dips for the big game day. Dare to do more with snacks. But, keep in mind that some snacks are really messy like saucy BBQ wings. If you choose to serve these type of finger foods, provide napkins and stations where your guests can clean up easily. Thinking ahead on these things will make the difference between a good game and a great day.
